ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 9. Kazakhstan is experiencing significant growth in the agricultural sector, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said during today's meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana, Trend reports via Akorda.

"This year, the key drivers of economic development have been the manufacturing industry and the construction sector. Nearly 4.5 million hectares, or 27 percent of the total area, have been harvested across the country for the main grain crops.

With an average yield of 15 quintals per hectare, about 6.6 million tons of grain have been harvested, which is 40 percent higher than last year's figures. The delivery of subsidized diesel fuel is proceeding according to schedule," he explained.

The prime minister also briefed on the provision of housing for residents affected by floods.

"New homes have been provided to 7,463 families. Additionally, 479 houses are nearing the final stages of construction. Compensation for repairs has also been paid to 9,171 families," he said.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts and gave several instructions for the further socio-economic development of the country.
