ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 19. Kazakhstan and Tunisia have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening political consultations between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trend reports.

The inaugural session of the Kazakh-Tunisian political consultations was chaired by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakayev and his Tunisian counterpart Muhammad ben Ayed.

Both sides highlighted the positive development of bilateral relations, which are grounded in friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation. The consultations focused on ways to deepen political dialogue and enhance trade and economic ties.

Key topics included food security, the expansion of bilateral trade in agricultural products, and efforts to promote mutual investments. The discussion also explored the establishment of direct communication channels between business sectors in areas such as transportation, logistics, agriculture, mineral resources, and information technology.

In addition, the two delegations exchanged views on regional and international cooperation, particularly within the frameworks of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in the Mediterranean, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the League of Arab States, and other multilateral organizations.

The parties agreed to maintain close communication between their foreign ministries and emphasized the importance of holding regular bilateral consultations.
