Current religious situation in Kazakhstan discussed in Almaty

(KAZINFORM) Chairman of the Committee on religion of Kazakh Justice Ministry Yeraly Tugzhanov met with the scientists of Almaty city studying religious problems with the purpose to define scientific basis in this sphere; Kazinform refers to press service of the department.

Representatives of akimat and Justice Ministry of Almaty city took part in the meeting as well. Within the framework of the sitting the participants discussed questions on interaction of religious communities with central and local authorities, development of contemporary religious situation in Kazakhstan, causes of development of nontraditional religions and countering involvement of young people into these religions, reports Trend.

There were also debated such problems as increase of number of institutes of higher education on theology, attraction of scientific potential of the republic for publication of scientific and methodical editions on theology and creation of analogous programs on television and radio. It is supposed to control observance of the order of religious communities and conduct their reviewing and expertise.
