Bulgarian, Kazakh Premiers started talks

(Kazinform) - Ceremony of the official meeting of Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov who arrived in Bulgaria for participation in bilateral talks on Kazakhstans entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) has taken place today in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia.

After negotiations Kazakh and Bulgarian Premiers are supposed to sign a number of documents and hold joint press conference, reports Trend.

According to Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commodity turnover between the two states amounted USD 21.23 million in 2005. And for the first two months of current year export of Kazakhstani goods to Bulgaria increased as well. Such dynamics is caused by significant increase of crude oil supply to Bulgaria.

Perspective direction of trade and economic cooperation is creation of joint enterprises in the sphere of pharmaceutics, processing of agricultural production and food-canning industry. Besides, Bulgarian companies work in some of Kazakhstans construction projects.

Bulgaria represents a special interest for Kazakhstan being a transit and energy center at the Balkans and link in transport projects of the European Union. It is known that in 2007 the country plans to join EU.
