Kazakh Foreign Minister receives Ambassadors of USA and Slovakia

(Kazakhstan today) - Kassymzhomart Tokayev, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, received John Ordway, US ambassador to Kazakhstan, and Dusan Podgorsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to RK, Thursday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has informed Kazakhstan Today.

At the meeting with the US Ambassador Mr. Tokayev discussed preparations for an official visit of the head of our state to the USA in September 2007 and a number of other bilateral co-operation aspects, reports Trend.

The Slovak diplomat in his turn expressed his country's official support of Kazakhstan's OSCE Chairmanship candidacy for 2009. Besides, Mr. Podgorsky has informed the Minister about implementation of joint projects in RK.

On the same day Mr. Tokayev also received Anna Biolik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Kazakhstan, in relation with the completion of her diplomatic mission to RK. Having thanked M. Biolik for her work, Mr. Tokayev wished her success in her further diplomatic career. At the same time, the sides discussed bilateral co-operation between Astana and Ottawa.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, on Thursday the FM also met Nikolai Selivon, newly assigned Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Kazakhstan. The diplomats discussed the current condition and prospects of political and economic co-operation between the countries, as well as preparations for the Year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine in 2007.
