(gazeta.kz) - An agreement on co-operation between the Regional Financial Centre in Almaty (RFCA) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is planned to be reached during a visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, to Great Britain, the embassy of Kazakhstan to Great Britain told Kazakhstan Today.
"An agreement on co-operation between the Regional Financial Centre in Almaty (RFCA) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) will be signed during the visit," - the embassy said.
The visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Great Britain will start November 22. According to the embassy N. Nazarbayev will "open the bidding at the London Stock Exchange." Besides, the head of state is expected to speak at a conference on economic modernisation in Kazakhstan together with the Lord Mayor of the City and pay a visit to the London Metal Exchange, reports Trend.
According to the embassy, London City is one of the oldest historically important areas of London and one of the biggest centres of business activities in the world. The biggest part of London - itself the biggest European city economy, responsible for 30% of Britain's GNP - economic activities is borne by the City. 35% of all world's currency operations take place in the City, while the USD turnover of these operations exceeds USD operations carried out in New York.
The Lord Mayor of the City is expected in Kazakhstan on a visit next spring.
