Kyrgyzstan extremely needs donor assistance due to the budget deficit. This was announced today at a meeting with representatives of international donor organizations by Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev, 24.kg. reported.
"It's long time there were no such meetings in wide format. Thank you for your prompt assistance rendered in 2010. This enabled us to avoid serious disturbances," Atambayev said.
"We will discuss the socio-economic situation in the country, the government's plans, and prospects for our cooperation, medium and long-term development strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the coordination of donor assistance," he explained.
"We support the initiative of international organizations. Assistance strategy to Kyrgyzstan, which was developed by international organizations in 2010, helped Kyrgyzstan. We hope that the next strategy will also be based on the priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic," said the prime minister.
