Kyrgyz MP suggests new way of meeting foreign top officials

Member of the Kyrgyz Parliament suggests revising of the state protocol to meet foreign high-ranking officials, 24.kg reported. Such suggestion was made by the deputy Kanybek Imanaliev at today's session of the parliamentary Committee on international Affairs and Inter-Parliament Cooperation.

He asserts Kyrgyzstan is a sovereign state having the right to define own state protocol. "When we visit other countries first of all we are driven to monuments of victims of genocide. What's wrong with implementation the same rule here to bring guests to Ata-Beyit monument? Besides, in some countries as Italy for example horsemen meet high-ranking officials. We, as forefathers of the great Manas, could follow Italy and organize horsemen headed by the hero Bakay. This will strengthen the respect of other countries to national traditions of Kyrgyzstan," believes Imanaliev.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kakzakbayev, the current Kyrgyz state protocol is European one. "For several years attempts to put national elements into it are made. They are implemented but not prescribed legislatively. We promise to consider this suggestion," he added.
