The Government of Kyrgyzstan infracts the Constitution by their initiatives, Ata Meken faction member, Omurbek Abdyrakhmanov, stated at faction's session, 24.kg reported.
According to him, deputies shouldn't support amendments to the Law on Elections of Heads of Local Government as they mean strengthening of power vertical. Amendments let Prime Minister appoint mayors and heads of districts to be submitted for approval of local councils (kenesh) through akim (head of local government). "Do you want to see people on the square again, like on April 7? What are you suggesting not only contradicts the Constitution but conflicts with principles of honest management. Even Bakiyev didn't go as far as you," Omurbek Abdyrakhmanov boiled over.
