A possible cause of the explosion in the warehouse with firecrackers in Bishkek was a short circuit, KirTAG correspondent reported from the scene.
"I think that a short circuit could be the cause," witness Emil Khamrayev told KirTAG.
He said that the fire started in a warehouse at 10:45 a.m. One worker was injured, an eyewitness said. According to the ambulance service, there were no dead.
The fire brigades work on the scene. The territory is surrounded by police patrols.
It was reported that a warehouse containing firecrackers exploded in Bishkek.
"The warehouse which is presumably storing firecrackers, exploded", the agency said. "The warehouse is located next to buildings in Kelechek, near the market Dordoi. Three fire engines arrived at the scene."
The eyewitnesses said that there is strong haze in the emergency area.
