MEPs will present their preliminary report on the presidential elections on October 31, member of the European Parliament Joachim Zeller told KirTAG on Saturday.

"MEPs intend to speak about their observations and conclusions for the elections at a press conference on October 31," he said.

He stressed that he and his colleagues monitored the events of April and June 2010 and at first doubted in Kyrgyzstan's future. But the leadership of the country managed to provide stability.

"I am included in a group for cooperation with Central Asian countries," he said. Last year I was an observer at the elections in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Those parliamentary elections were held at a higher democratic level, than in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. They were an example for the countries of the region. We have good expectations."

Five MEPs will observe the elections.

The presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan are scheduled for October 30.
