Skirmish happened on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, a frontier guard killed in Kyrgyzstan, two people wounded, KirTAG reported citing spokesman of SCNS KR border forces Gulmira Borubaeva on Tuesday.
"In Bulak-Bashi area Alabuka district of Jalal-Abad region skirmish was happened between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. According to preliminary data, one soldier killed from Kyrgyz side, two residents were injured" - said Borubayeva.
According to her, border incident occurred on Tuesday at 17.20.
"Residents of the area Bulak-Bashi and employees of the firm "Kazakhmys " conducted road repair works in the Bulak-Bashi area. Border command of Kok-Tash Alabuka frontier came there and explained that the repairs on this road passes through controversial part of the state border. Despite this, local residents continued their work. Later Uzbekistan frontier guards arrived at the area and demanded to stop work on the disputed section of road. Local residents have responded aggressively to these demands, and Uzbek border guards used a weapon. Kyrgyz frontier guards have to use weapons in response, "- she explained.
As Borubayeva noted also people has suffered from Uzbek side. Fro this moment the situation in the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border stabilized.
According to the spokesperson, immediately after the conflict, the place was aimed Border Task Force, headed by the Chief of Staff, Major-General Ryskeldi Musaev.
"After the conflict, the commander of border troops SCNS KR, Major-General Zakir Tilenov held telephone talks with his Uzbek counterpart. Maybe tomorrow will be assigned a meeting of heads of departments. Tomorrow will be known time and place of meeting," - said Borubayeva
