Kyrgyzstan’s defense minister, suspected of corruption, dismissed
Kyrgyzstan's Defense Minister Abibilla Kudaiberdiev, who was earlier accused of corruption, has been dismissed from his post, RIA Novosti reported citing the website of the country's president.
It was earlier reported that a criminal case has been initiated against Kudaiberdiev on suspicion of power abuse and embezzlement.
"Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree on Oct.12 to dismiss Abibilla Kudaiberdiev from the post of defense minister," said the website.
Reportedly, the First Deputy Defense Minister Zamir Suyerkulov will handle the duties of the country's defense minister.
