BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. The sum of issued microloans in Kyrgyzstan increased from January through September 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, the sum of issued microloans in Kyrgyzstan in 9 months of this year amounted to 28.5 billion soms ($337.4 million), which is an increase of 4 percent over the same period in 2021.
At the same time, the number of recipients of microloans in the reporting period decreased by 2.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year - to 476,000 people.
"Of the total amount of issued microloans, more than 47 percent were borrowed for consumer needs, about 24 percent - for the development of agriculture, 11 percent - for trade and public catering, and 7 percent - for construction," the committee reported.
Meanwhile, the largest amounts of microloans were issued in the capital Bishkek (18.5 percent of the total volume of microloans issued), as well as in Osh (17.4 percent), Chuy (16.1 percent) and Jalal- Abad regions (14.5 percent).
