BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. In Kyrgyzstan, the deadline for completing the preparation of a feasibility study for a large transport project has been announced, Trend reports reference to economist.kg.
During today's meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament of Kyrgyzstan) on budget, economic and fiscal policy, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov informed that the feasibility study of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is planned to be completed by April 2023.
According to him, this project is currently one of the largest in Kyrgyzstan, along with the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1.
Japarov noted that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will require from $3 up to $5 billion. Earlier, it was reported that the deadline for completion of the feasibility study of this project (including the time of the assessment) is no later than June 1, 2023.
The agreement on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway (section on the territory of Kyrgyzstan) was signed on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Uzbekistan's Samarkand on September 14, 2022.
