New industrial enterprises to be launched in Tajikistan’s Nurek

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. It is planned to put into operation 20 new industrial enterprises in Tajikistan’s Nurek city, located in the southwest of the country, till 2026, Trend reports via Tajik media.

In the frame of the Years of Industrial Development (2022-2026), timed to the 35th Anniversary of State Independence of Tajikistan, it is planned to put into operation a total number of 180 enterprises in Nurek till 2026. Among them are 8 administrative buildings, 8 educational institutions, 6 medical institutions, 5 sports grounds, and 131 service and tourist facilities.

According to Nurek's officials, the following facilities were built and put into operation in the city last year: "Microcement" cement production enterprise, an enterprise for processing decorative stones, a workshop for the production of building materials, a workshop for the production of cardboard gypsum, a workshop for the production of sand and gravel. Overall, 142 permanent jobs were created in these enterprises in 2022.

The value of products manufactured by the industrial enterprises of Nurek in 2022 amounted to 1.6 billion somoni ($153 million), which is an increase of 101.5 million somoni ($9 million) over 2021.

As for today, 30 objects have been commissioned, and the work on the construction and the reconstruction have been launched on 120 various sites in Nurek. Work on installation of the equipment underway on the enterprise on production of burnt brick. According to the plan, the plant intends to resume work in the near future.
