BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 23. The number of unemployed registered in the employment services in Kyrgyzstan in 2022 amounted to 74,700 people, decreasing by 1,300 from 2021 (76,000 people), Trend reports citing the statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

According to the statistics, unemployment in the country stood at 2.8 percent of the whole workforce.

In total, in the reporting period, the number of unemployed registered in the employment services in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries amounted to 824,300 people. The indicator declined by 18.7 percent from 2021 (1 million people) and accounted for 0.9 percent of the whole labor force.

Meanwhile, according to estimates of the National Statistical Committee, the population of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 6.7 million people as of August 1, 2022.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan, the number of citizens who applied to employment services as of January 1, 2023, amounted to 165,405 people. Some 110,732 people have received advice on labor and employment legislation, the possibility of vocational training and retraining, and choosing a profession.

During the reporting period, unemployment benefits were assigned to 249 unemployed citizens.
