BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Kyrgyzstan has substantially increased import of cars from China for the January through February 2023 period, by more than 11 times year-on-year, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan imported from China 1,364 cars. In comparison, only 122 cars were imported from China in the same months last year.

The value of the import exceeded $32.9 million, which is a growth of almost 21 times year-on-year ($1.5 million from January through February 2023).

Notably, the import of cars from China was the second highest in terms of the value, surpassed only by South Korea, which supplied to Kyrgyzstan 5,093 cars for $40.5 million.

Kyrgyzstan mostly imported cars from the following countries from January through February 2023:

South Korea – 5,093 cars for $40.5 million;

Georgia – 2,629 cars for $2.2 million;

Russia – 1,737 cars for $19.1 million;

China – 1,364 cars for $32.9 million;

The US – 1,202 cars for $19.8 million;

Japan – 889 cars for $17.1 million;

Lithuania – 601 cars for $10.2 million;

Germany – 561 cars for $26.2 million

Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 14,885 cars from January through February 2023, which is 2.6 times more than in the same period of 2022 (5,622 cars).

The cars were imported for a total amount of $197.6 million, which is 5.7 times more than in the first two months of 2022 ($34.4 million).
