BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. The volume of non-performing loans in the credit portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector has amounted to 6.1 billion soms ($69.8 million) as of March 31, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
In the reporting data, the share of non-performing loans accounted for 2.9 percent of the Kyrgyz banking system. The volume of the loans increased by 11.5 percent or 600 million soms ($6.8 million) from the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, the share of classified loans in the credit portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector accounted for 12.6 percent or 26.3 billion soms ($300.5 million).
In comparison, the volume of this type of loans totaled 26.1 billion soms ($298.2 million) and accounted for 12.8 percent of the banking system as of December 31, 2022.
At the same time, total liabilities of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector have increased since the beginning of the year by 6.6 percent and amounted to 428.3 billion soms ($4.8 billion) over 402 billion soms ($4.5 billion) as of December 31, 2022.
