BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The gross output of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, including forestry and fishing, amounted to 71.103 billion soms ($814.4 million) from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
As evidenced for the data provided by the country’s Statistical Committee, the volume of the agricultural production increased 2.4 percent compared to the same period of 2023.
The livestock production held the largest share, accounting for 88.8 percent of the overall agricultural production volume during this period. Crop production contributed 8.5 percent, while forestry and fishing each represented 0.1 percent. Services accounted for 2.5 percent of the total.
Farm and personal subsidiary households contributed 94.3 percent to the overall production volume.
In the overall volume of gross output of agricultural products, the Chuy region holds the largest share of around 27 percent.
The growth in the gross output of agricultural products from January through May 2023 was mainly driven by the increased production in the livestock sector.
Kyrgyzstan's GDP from January through May 2023 amounted to 355 billion soms ($4 billion).
