BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 21. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the US amounted to $202.079 million from January through June 2023, accounting for 3 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of trade between the two countries increased 2.4 times compared to the same period in 2022 ($83.841 million).
During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan’s imports from the US rose 2.4 times compared to the same months in 2022 – from $80.619 million up to $200.078 million. This accounted for 3.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s overall imports.
However, Kyrgyzstan’s exports to the US decreased by 38 percent year-on-year – from $3.221 million in January-June 2022 to $2.001 million, accounting for 0.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total exports
Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the US amounted to $246.8 million in 2022, which is an increase of 2.3 times compared to $105 million in 2021.
Meantime, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, an increase of 31 percent compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $1.306 billion, which is 34.6 percent more than the $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.
The country's imports reached $5.398 billion, rising 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
