BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 21. Kyrgyzstan imported 28,867 motorcycles from January through June 2023, which is seven times more than in the same period of 2022 (4,108 motorcycles), Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan indicates that the value of these imports reached $3.083 million, an increase of 4.4 times compared to the first half of 2022 ($698,500).
The majority of the motorcycles, 27,790 in total, were delivered to Kyrgyzstan from China. This figure increased 7.2 times compared to the same period in 2021 (3,811 motorcycles). The value of these imports amounted to $1.4 million, which is a growth rate of 2.7 times compared to the first half of 2022 ($512,400).
Additionally, 296 motorcycles were imported from Uzbekistan for a total of $135,700; 180 motorcycles were imported from Pakistan for $17,600; 139 motorcycles were imported from Japan for $99,500; 125 motorcycles were imported from Russia for $454,600; and 114 motorcycles were imported from Lithuania for $178,700.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, an increase of 31 percent compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $1.306 billion, which is 34.6 percent more than the $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.
The country's imports reached $5.398 billion, rising 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
