BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 6. The State Customs Service collected 9.77 billion soms ($110 million) in customs payments in August 2023, Trend reports.
Information provided by the service revealed that the collection exceeded the plan by 4.6 percent. When compared to August of the previous year, revenue increased by 2.2 billion soms ($24 million).
Meanwhile, in July 2023, the State Customs Service collected 10.2 billion soms ($115 million) in customs payments.
Customs revenue amounted to 68.5 billion soms ($776 million) from January through August 2023. Compared to the corresponding months of 2022, revenue increased by 23.7 billion soms ($268 million).
The contribution of customs revenues to the state budget of Kyrgyzstan reached an all-time high in 2022. The total amount of customs fees collected amounted to 74 billion soms ($863.6 million), which is an increase of 57.8 percent compared to the previous year's figure of 46.9 billion soms ($547.3 million).
