BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 11. A total of 1,765 greenhouses were operational across Kyrgyzstan as of September 1, with an occupied area of 203.1 hectares, Trend reports.
The data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan shows that these greenhouses were located in the following regions:
Chuy region: 265 greenhouses covering 53 hectares;
Issyk-Kul region: 74 greenhouses covering 5 hectares;
Naryn region: 38 greenhouses covering 5 hectares;
Talas region: 15 greenhouses covering 4 hectares;
Osh region: 370 greenhouses covering 53 hectares;
Batken region: 191 greenhouses covering 13.1 hectares;
Jalal-Abad region: 812 greenhouses covering over 70 hectares.
Furthermore, according to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, agricultural production in the country from January through August 2023 decreased by 1.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
This decline in the output of agricultural products can be attributed to a 6.8 percent reduction in crop production, particularly in wheat (down by 29.7 percent) and barley (down by 43.6 percent).

На 1 сентября 2023 года общее количество действующих теплиц по республике составило 1765 единиц, а занимаемая площадь достигла 203,1 га, сообщили в Минсельхозе.
По данным ведомства, по областям теплицы установлены:
- Чуйской области - 265 теплиц на 53 га;
- Иссык-Кульской области - 74 теплицы на 5,0 га;
- Нарынской области - 38 теплиц на 5,0 га;
- Таласской области – 15 теплиц на 4,0 га;
- Ошской области – 370 теплиц на 53,0 га;
- Баткенской - 191 теплиц на 13,1 га;
- Джалал-Абадской области - 812 теплиц на 70 га.
В основном теплицы строятся в Джалал-Абадской, Баткенской, Ошской и Чуйской областях.
