BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 29. German Knauf plans to build a gypsum processing plant in northern Kyrgyzstan and is also interested in expanding its manufacturing presence in the country, Trend reports.
Uwe Knotzer, General Partner of Knauf, made these remarks during a meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, in Berlin. Knotzer mentioned that they are considering the possibility of constructing a second plant in southern Kyrgyzstan in the future.
He emphasized that the construction of the plant in Tajikistan will not only improve the well-being of the local population by creating job opportunities, but will also provide an additional boost to the overall development of the region.
Uwe Knotzer highlighted that the company is committed to principles of eco-sustainable development to protect the environment, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.
During the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov emphasized that the country is creating all necessary conditions to balance financial attractiveness and confidence in the investment climate. Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting major German companies like Knauf to the country.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan and Knauf.
