Kyrgyzstan's service sector thrives in 8M2023

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 9. Hotels and restaurants in Kyrgyzstan provided services worth 17.706 billion soms ($199 million) from January through August 2023, which is 16.3 percent more than the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that hotels and other short-term accommodation establishments provided services worth 2.333 billion soms ($26 million), which is 11.9 percent higher than in January-August 2022.

Restaurants, bars, and other food service establishments offered services worth 15.372 billion soms ($172 million), marking a 16.9-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.

This growth in the volume of services provided by hotels and restaurants was observed across all regions of the country from January through August 2023.

The largest amount of services provided by hotels and restaurants was registered in the capital, Bishkek, at 15.045 billion soms ($84.188 million). This figure is 17.5 percent higher than in the corresponding months of 2022.

The value of services provided by hotels and restaurants in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 29.564 billion soms ($334 million) in 2022, which is 19.4 percent higher than in 2021.
