BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 18. Kyrgyzstan exported 320,703 tons of cement to Uzbekistan from January through August 2023, which is 28 percent less than during the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan indicates that the value of these imports reached $12.828 million, dropping by 31 percent year-on-year. During this period, Uzbekistan was the sole importer of cement from Kyrgyzstan.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan imported 125,479 tons of cement for $12.003 million during the reporting months. The volume of the exports decreased by 54 percent year-on-year, but the value rose by 5.2 percent
Primarily, Kyrgyzstan imported cement from Kazakhstan – 119,801 tons for $11.521 million, as well as 3,518 tons of cement for $424,400 from Iran, and 1,533 tons of cement for $16,900 from Russia.
Overall, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan amounted to $399.339 million from January through August 2023, increasing by 10 percent compared to the same period of 2022.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan rose by 16.9 percent year-on-year, amounting to $161.857 million. Kyrgyzstan’s imports from Uzbekistan reached $237.481 million, which is 6 percent higher than in the same period of 2022.
