BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 31. Kyrgyzstan imported 8,622 tons of cabbage from January through November 2023, which is a 0.2-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (8,603 tons), Trend reports.
According to data from Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistical Committee, the import value reached $2.123 million, rising by 4.2 percent, up from $2.037 million in the corresponding months of 2022.
Primarily, Kyrgyzstan bought cabbage from Uzbekistan during the reporting period - 8,001 tons, which is a decrease of 1.5 percent compared to the 8,114 tons in the corresponding months of 2022. The import value for cabbage from Uzbekistan totaled $1.935 million, which is a slight 0.1 percent increase from $1.906 million in January through November 2022.
Among other countries from which Kyrgyzstan imported cabbage were Kazakhstan (350 tons), China (215 tons), Iran (44 tons), and Afghanistan (10 tons).
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $13.917 billion from January through November 2023, which is a 29 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($10.787 billion).
Exports totaled $2.807 billion, which is a 36.7 percent growth compared to the corresponding period in 2022 ($2.054 billion). The country's imports amounted to $11.109 billion, increasing by 27.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($8.732 billion).
