BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 24. Kyrgyzstan imported 790 trucks from South Korea from January through February 2024, which is 2.2 times more than the 351 trucks in the same months of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of the imports amounted to $2.701 million, increasing by 2.4 times compared to $1.100 million during the corresponding months of 2023.
During the period under review, the highest number of trucks was supplied by South Korea with 790 trucks ($2.701 million), followed by Lithuania with 354 trucks ($1.140 million). China ranked third among the largest exporters of trucks to Kyrgyzstan (312 trucks for $6.855 million).
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 1,724 trucks from January through February 2024, which is 38 percent more than 1,249 trucks in the same months of 2023. The value of the imports totaled $17.948 million, increasing by 58.9 percent year-on-year ($11.293 million from January through February 2023).
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $2.255 billion in the first two months of 2024, which is 28.3 percent more than in the same period in 2023 ($1.758 billion).
Exports totaled $307.5 million, increasing by 18.4 percent compared to January–February 2023 ($259.726 million). Imports amounted to $1.947 billion, growing by 30 percent, compared to $1.498 billion in the corresponding months of 2023.
