BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 12. Kyrgyzstan has started producing helicopters, Dairbek Orunbekov, the head of the information policy service in the presidential administration, said on Facebook, Trend reports.
A two-seater helicopter, he said, can travel 600 kilometers in three hours thanks to its 70-liter fuel tank. The price exceeds $60,000.
Orunbekov also mentioned that factories for producing cars, helicopters, and other enterprises will be opening in the country soon. He noted that the aircraft have already been tested and are now on display.
The production is handled by the Shumkar Transnational Corporation. The company was established in 2021.
Kyrgyzstan is making progress in its industrial sector, with new developments in both aerospace and automotive manufacturing. President Sadyr Zhaparov laid the foundation stone in February for a new facility dedicated to the production and sale of electric vehicles in the Chuy region. The project is a collaboration between the Kyrgyz government, local businesses, and the China Hubei Zhuoyue Group. The initial investment for the project will be $115 million, and the plant is expected to produce more than 80,000 vehicles per year.
