BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 20. Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye are in discussions regarding the establishment of a Ziraat Bank branch in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
The issue was addressed during a meeting between Kyrgyz Ambassador to Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev and the Chairman of the Turkish Banking Association and General Director of Ziraat Bank, Alpaslan Cakar.
Kazakbaev emphasized the significance of this initiative, noting that Ziraat Bank already operates in 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. He invited Cakar for a working visit to Kyrgyzstan to explore collaboration opportunities in greater detail.
The sides discussed key areas of cooperation, including the establishment of correspondent accounts for Kyrgyz banks in Turkish financial institutions. Cakar expressed his willingness for open and constructive dialogue, highlighting the aim to strengthen ties with Kyrgyz financial institutions.
Following the meeting, the sides signed an agreement to organize a specialized meeting for representatives of banking institutions from both countries under the Turkish Banking Association to discuss and address relevant cooperation issues.
Ziraat Bank, founded in 1863, is a state-owned Turkish bank that provides commercial credit support to businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as consumer loans, including mortgages and auto loans.
