Tajikistan Foreign Minister Khamrokhon Zarifi expressed the country's readiness to support regional projects, aimed to promote peace, stability and economic development in Afghanistan, CA-News reports.

"Foreign Minister [...] expressed Tajikistan's readiness to support regional projects, that will promote peace stability and economic development of Afghanistan," Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.

This statement was made during the meeting of Zarifi with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake on Thursday.

In addition to the Afghanistan issue, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation, coordination within international organizations and the situation in the Central Asian countries.

Zarifi also took part in The New Silk Road ministerial, organized by Germeny, Afghanistan and US within the 66th UN General Assembly. He mentioned the importance of implementing regional infrastructure projects in the sphere of transportation and energy.
