Baroness Vivien Stern discussed human freedoms and rights with the country's officials during her visit to Tajikistan on Sept. 19-22, Asia-PLUS reported on Friday.
According to the report, the member of the House of Lords of the British ParliamentStern meet with Tajikistan's heads of two Parliament chambers, Ombudsman, Deputy Minister of Justice, OSCE representatives in Dushanbe and other officials, involved in the human rights issues.
The meetings focused on the adoption of legislative acts in compliance with international standards and the observance of international obligations taken by Tajikistan in the sphere of human freedoms and rights.
