Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 24 / Trend /

French VINCI company will construct a terminal in Dushanbe International Airport instead of other French company SOFEMA, Asia-Plus reported on Friday.

This issue was discussed at the meeting of Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, French Ambassador to Tajikistan Henry Zipper de Fabiani and senior representatives of the French companies of SOFEMA and VINCI in Dushanbe on February 24, the Prime Minister Secretariat reported.

The source says that Tajikistan has stopped cooperating with SOFEMA on construction of a new terminal at Dushanbe International Airport. VINCI will continue constructing the terminal.

In the course of the talks, the Tajik prime minister reportedly stressed that the delays in the project implementation led to the increase in its cost.

The sides stressed that the issue of additional financing of the project would be solved in the near future.

The construction project of an international terminal at the Dushanbe airport is being implemented under France's financial support. France has provided Tajikistan with a long-term, low interest 20 million euro loan to fund the construction of the terminal worth 27 million euro; the remaining 7 million euros are provided by Dushanbe International Airport.
