The situation on the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border is aggravating every day, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said during an extraordinary meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Trend reports.
“The hostilities are underway among the Taliban themselves along the border,” President Rahmon said. “More than 11 Taliban fighters have been killed and more than 18 wounded in one area over the past week.”
“Therefore, we should create a security zone around Afghanistan,” the President added.
The President stressed that the intensified activity of international terrorist groups in Afghanistan directly affects the CSTO collective security zone.
