BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Tajikistan’s insurance companies concluded a total number of 2.1 million contracts in 2022, which is an increase of 7.3 percent over 2021, Trend reports, with reference to the National Bank of Tajikistan.

The assets of the insurance companies amounted to 612 million somoni ($56.3 million) as of December 31, 2022, which is 16.4 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

The balance sheet capital of insurance companies totaled 359 million somoni ($33 million) as of the end of December 2022, increasing by 20.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

The liabilities of the insurance companies reached 226 million somoni ($20.8 million), increasing by 10 percent compared to 2021.

The return on assets of the insurance companies amounted to 3.1 percent in the corresponding period, and the return on equity – to 7.3 percent, which is an increase of 1.6 p.p. and 3.1 p.p. compared to the preceding year, respectively.

The insurance services in Tajikistan were provided by 16 companies in 2022, including one state insurance company and 15 private companies with 67 branches.

The following companies provide insurance services in Tajikistan: Tojiksughurta, IC Muin, IC Mehnat, IC Eskhata Sugurta, IRO Spitamen Insurance, IC Itminon, IC Bima, IC Bima Life, Sugurtai Sharq, Tojik and China Insurance, IC Sughurtai avvalini milli, Insurance of 21st century, IС Sipahr, IC Takafful, DC Insurance, and IC Paymon Insurance.
