BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The main importers of goods from Tajikistan from January through February 2023 were Kazakhstan, which shares 30.6 percent of the total Tajik exports, China (24.9 percent), Türkiye (12.9 percent), and Russia (10 percent), Trend reports with reference to the Statistics Agency of Tajikistan.

The value of exports from Tajikistan totaled $231 million, which is a decrease of $50 million over the corresponding period of 2022.

The largest share of the exports from Tajikistan fell on such products as cement, electricity, ores, concentrates, precious and semi-precious metals and stones, aluminum, and textile materials.

The value of imports to Tajikistan in the first two months of 2023 amounted to $787 million. This is $75 million less compared to the period of the same period of 2022.

Tajikistan mostly imported petroleum products, liquefied gas, coal, machinery and equipment, non-precious metals and products from them, chemical industry products, products of plant origin, and foods.

The goods to the country were imported mainly from Russia, which accounts for 27.1 percent of the total Tajik imports, Kazakhstan (19.8 percent), and China (18.4 percent).

Tajikistan in the first two months of this year maintained trade relations with 90 countries of the world.

The main trading partners of the republic were Russia (23.2 percent in foreign trade of Tajikistan), Kazakhstan (22.2 percent), and China (19.9 percent).

Overall, the foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan amounted to more than $1 billion from January through February 2023, which is $124 million less than in the same period of 2022.
