BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Around 700 hectares of land have been irrigated in the Esanboy jamoat (the third-level administrative divisions) in Rudaki district in western Tajikistan, the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy of Tajikistan said, Trend reports via Tajik media.

Currently, the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy, in collaboration with the Agency for Land Management and Irrigation under the Government of Tajikistan, is carrying out certain activities to implement the necessary measures for introducing into agricultural circulation lands cleared of debris, as well as irrigated lands used as feed lands, in accordance with the instructions of Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon.

In particular, the installation of pumping devices was completed in the rural jamoat of Esanboy, as a result of which 691 hectares were provided with irrigation water.

When inspecting the work in progress, the officials of the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy, the Agency for Land Management and Irrigation under the Government of Tajikistan, and Rudaki district officials got acquainted with the progress done in the area.

Following the meeting, certain recommendations were presented on the effective use of water and land, as well as the implementation of additional measures to increase soil fertility for land users.
