BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. The value of industrial production in Tajikistan amounted to more than 6.6 billion somoni ($605.3 million) from January through February 2023, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology of Tajikistan, Trend reports via Tajik media.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the figure increased by 6.4 percent year-on-year.
The main factor in the growth was an increase in the manufacturing industry — by 10 percent, and in the manufacturing industry – by 2.5 percent.
Value of industrial production in Tajikistan reached 43 billion somoni ($4.2 billion) in 2022.
More than 500 industrial workshops and enterprises began their activities last year.
The main industries of Tajikistan are: mining, chemical, cotton, metallurgical, and machine-building. The largest industrial centers of Tajikistan are Dushanbe and Khujand cities.
A total of 2,594 industrial enterprises were operating throughout the country in 2022, including 788 in the Sughd region, 710 in the Khatlon region, and 548 in the capital Dushanbe.
