BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Among agricultural products, Russia mainly exports to Tajikistan poultry meat and by-products, ready-to-eat meat, dairy, protein-fat, and fish products, day-old chickens and incubation eggs, a source at the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Trend.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia also exports potatoes grown in the Chelyabinsk region to Tajikistan, as well as onions from the Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions.

“As for grain products, pulses, flour and cereals are mainly exported to Tajik market from Russia's Altai and Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, Orenburg, Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, and Rostov regions,” the source said.

As the source pointed out, when exporting agricultural products, measures are taken to ensure quality and safety. The products are supplied in accordance with the veterinary, phytosanitary requirements of the importing country.

Meanwhile, according to Tajikistan’s statistics committee, Russia's share accounted for 23.7 percent of Tajikistan’s foreign trade from January through March 2023.

Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover in the corresponding period amounted to about $1.6 billion, which is 5.8 percent or $98 million less than in the same period of 2022.
