Trade turnover between Russia, Tajikistan up by 7.5%

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia exceeded $512 million from January through April 2023, which resulted in Russia being the main trade partner of Tajikistan in these months, Trend reports.

The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia increased by 7.5 percent year-on-year.

In terms of main trade partners, Russia is followed by China with $458 million and Kazakhstan with $319 million.

While trade turnover with China jumped by 2.1 percent year-on-year, trade with Kazakhstan on the contrary decreased by 15.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan amounted to $130 million, which is 25.7 percent less than in the same period of 2022.

Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Türkiye reached $125 million, showing a 6.3-percent growth year-on-year.

The value of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.1 billion in the first four months of 2023, which is a decline of $67.2 million year-on-year. Tajikistan's exports amounted to $430.5 million, while imports – to $1.7 billion.
