BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. The average prices for petrol in Tajikistan have not changed in the period from June 5 through 11 compared to the preceding week, Trend reports.
The data of World Food Programme (WFP) showd that the retail market in Tajikistan had an average petrol price of 9.1 somoni ($0.83) for a liter as of June 5. This represents a 19 percent decrease compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
The lowest price for petrol - 8.4 somoni ($0.77) for a liter was recorded in Isfara city of Tajikistan in the reported date, decreasing 3 percent compared to the preceding week. The price dropped by 23 percent year-on-year.
Murghob city in Tajikistan registered the highest petrol price at 11 somoni ($1.01) per liter, which remained unchanged from the previous week. This price decreased 19 percent compared to the same date in 2022.
In Tajikistan’s Dushanbe, the price of petrol remained unchanged from the previous week, standing at 8.6 somoni ($0.79) per liter. Compared to the corresponding data in 2022, the price declined by 20 percent.
WFP Tajikistan, in partnership with the Neksigol Mushovir advisory organization, has been monitoring commodity prices in markets across the country. The price data is collected through the network of field enumerators. For each commodity, multiple traders are interviewed, and the average prices are recorded.
