Tajikistan discloses volume of imported petroleum products

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 24. Tajikistan imported 442,000 tons of petroleum products from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

According to the country's Antimonopoly Service, petroleum products were mainly imported from Russia, accounting for 85.4 percent of the total volume.

In addition, petroleum products were imported from Kazakhstan (5.1 percent of the total imports), Turkmenistan (4.4 percent), Uzbekistan (2.6 percent), Belarus (1.4 percent), and other countries (1.1 percent).

According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the country, oil production in Tajikistan during the first half of this year amounted to 9,100 tons, which is nearly 3,400 tons or 27 percent less than in the same period in 2022.

Last year, Tajikistan imported 783,700 tons of petroleum products, which is an increase of 164,900 tons, compared to 2021. The value of imports of petroleum products to Tajikistan in 2022 amounted to $681.1 million, with an average price of $870 per ton.
