DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 26. The German KfW Development Bank will allocate 13.97 million euros in the form of a grant for the construction of educational institutions in the Khatlon and Sughd regions of Tajikistan, as well as in the city of Dushanbe, Trend reports.
The contracts were signed in the presence of Andreas Schneider, the Director of the KfW Regional Office for Central Asia, and Zavki Zavkizoda, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, according to information provided by the ministry.
The main focus of KfW's aid to Tajikistan in 2022—51 precent or 20 million euros—was on the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries.
While 4 percent, or 1.5 million euros, was allotted for the health industry, and 45 percent, or 17.4 million euros, was used for energy production, distribution, and efficiency.
KfW Development Bank has been operational in Tajikistan since 2001. On behalf of the German government, it extends support to Tajikistan across various domains, including health, social protection, population policy, and sustainable urban development (mobility, circular economy, and waste management).
