BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. Tajikistan could consider collaboration with Azerbaijan in terms of implementing an 'e-government' system, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ilhom Abdurahmon, said in an interview with Trend.
"Given Azerbaijan's vast experience with 'e-government', I believe that it would have been preferable for the relevant Tajik authorities to establish cooperation with the Azerbaijani side to introduce this system in our country," the ambassador said.
Ilhom Abdurahmon also noted that developing joint programs in the field of innovative technologies could be a promising direction for bilateral cooperation.
According to him, Tajikistan is ready to consider opportunities for Azerbaijani companies to participate in joint projects in various sectors, including industry, mining and processing, the aluminum industry, hydroelectric power, oil and gas, construction, transportation, telecommunications, and agriculture.
He mentioned that there are currently more than 500 investment projects in Tajikistan, which create conditions for the development of economic ties, mutual investment, and an increase in trade turnover.
The formation of e-government in Azerbaijan country is based on international practice and a legal framework for its activity was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “ On the approval of State Program (E-Azerbaijan) for the development of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan Republic in 2010-2012”, and by the Decree on approval of “Some measures for provision of electronic services by government agencies” dated May 23, 2011 and other normative legal acts.
