DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 25. Tajikistan imported 1,865 motor cars from Georgia from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reveals that the volume of these imports increased by 64 percent year-on-year. The value of imports reached $20.384 million, which is three times higher than in the same period of 2022, when it amounted to $6.794 million.
Motor cars accounted for almost 80 percent of Tajikistan's imports from Georgia from January through August 2023.
In August of the current year, Tajikistan imported 245 motor cars from Georgia, which is 32 percent more than in July. The value of the imports increased almost by 78 percent month-on-month, reaching $2.907 million.
Overall, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Georgia amounted to $25.583 million from January through August 2023, which is 2.5 times more than in the same period of 2022 ($10.006).
Tajikistan's imports from Georgia reached $25.544 million, up by 2.6 times compared to the same months in 2022 ($9.810 million). Tajikistan's exports to Georgia totaled $38,930, which is a decrease of 5 times compared to January–August 2022 ($196,130).
