Tajikistan discloses data on grain, fruit, vegetable harvest

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 28. More than 1,628 million tons of grains were harvested in Tajikistan from January through October 2023, Trend reports.

Based on data from Tajikistan's Statistical Agency, grain harvest remained at the same level as the previous year. In addition, 280,410 tons of cotton were gathered, as well as 989,782 tons of potatoes, 2,733 million tons of vegetables, 949,763 tons of melons, 584,697 tons of fruits, 169,251 tons of grapes, and 1,555 million tons of fodder.

The crop of potatoes increased by 5.4 percent, vegetables by 11 percent, melons by 17.4 percent, fruits by 35.4 percent, and fodder by 5.5 percent.

Furthermore, Tajikistan's grain stocks totaled 12.219 tons from January to October 2023. Some 963 tons of grain maize, 300 kg of sunflower, 1,749 tons of potatoes, 7,505 tons of vegetables, 906 tons of fruits, 274 tons of grapes, 1,465 tons of flour, 776 tons of vegetable oil, 142 tons of sugar, 383 tons of rice, and 3,262 cans of canned food were available in the country.

Tajikistan's agricultural production value reached 43,809 billion somoni ($3.9 billion) from January to September 2023, up 3.192 billion somoni ($288 million) over the same period the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
