DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 20. Russia has been implementing 4 unvestment projects in Tajikistan by the end of the first half of 2023, Trend reports.

The latest available data from the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) reveals that the total value of these projects reached $657 million.

"The cumulative volume of Russia's foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Moldova, and Turkmenistan stand at approximately $2.1 billion in the first half of the year, with 46 percent allocated to Kyrgyzstan," the bank said.

Additionally, throughout the initial half of 2023, countries within the Eurasian region collectively provided direct investments amounting to $680 million into Tajikistan.

The analysts at the bank, when referring to the Eurasian region, include 12 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.

According to the EDB, Russia remained the largest investor in the region. Since 2016, Russian FDI's minimum share in the region has been 78.9 percent.

However, the country receives considerably fewer investments from regional countries due to economic size disparities and high competition within the Russian market.
