BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Tajikistan is set to actively participate in initiatives by the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), as the country's air navigation service provider, the state-owned enterprise Tajikaeronavigatsiya, joined CANSO in June 2024, a source at the organization told Trend.
"The immediate plans for collaboration include active participation in CANSO events, projects, and initiatives. Tajikistan’s involvement in CANSO is significant. For instance, Tajikaeronavigatsiya recently took part in two CANSO Euro-Asia Summits aimed at fostering cooperation among industry leaders to improve understanding and develop shared strategic goals for enhancing air transport efficiency in Central Asia," the source said.
He noted that becoming a CANSO member enabled Tajikaeronavigatsiya to recently join a visit to the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), aimed at strengthening aviation links between air navigation service providers from the Central Asian Region and Europe.
"Tajikaeronavigatsiya's membership in CANSO signifies a commitment to enhancing air navigation services in Tajikistan and the Central Asia region by aligning with global standards. This membership allows Tajikistan to strengthen its capabilities, exchange best practices, and foster cooperation with other industry leaders. It underscores the country's growing prominence in the global aviation landscape and its dedication to maintaining high standards in air navigation services," the source added.
It was also noted that Tajikaeronavigatsiya brings extensive expertise in providing safe and efficient air navigation services in Central Asia.
"Their dedication to maintaining high standards and enhancing air navigation aligns with CANSO’s goals of improving the global air traffic management landscape. Their experience in operating within the unique challenges of Central Asian airspace adds valuable regional knowledge to CANSO's global network," the source said.
According to CANSO, in terms of global air navigation services, Tajikaeronavigatsiya is working on optimizing its route network to achieve significant savings in time, fuel, and carbon emissions.
"Through Tajikistan’s membership, we are able to promote and facilitate safe and efficient traffic flow through mutual collaboration for the implementation of air traffic flow management (ATFM) and collaborative decision-making (CDM)," the source concluded.
