Turkmenistan’s Cooperation with E.U Assumes Strategic Character
Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, 4 Dec/. Trend corr S. Kurbanov/ On 4 Dec, Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov, receiving Pierre Morel, E.U special representative in Central Asia, pointed to Turkmenistan's adherence to the active dialogue with its reliable partners including the E.U countries' cooperation which assumes strategic character for Turkmenistan.
Morel visited Ashgabat to participate in the international forums on the environment and water supply, Altin Asir, Turkmenistan TV channel, reported. The parties exchanged views on the perspectives of Turkmenistan's further development to cooperate with the EU concerning some priority trends, particularly in trade and economy given the considerable partnership experience and its huge potential. The parties discussed the opportunity of enhancing cooperation in the spheres of education and science as well as the high technology.
In Nov 2008 Berdimuhammedov visited Germany and Austria. During these visits the opportunity to deliver Turkmenistan's energy to the European market was discussed.
"Seizing the opportunity, Pierre Morel congratulated Turkmenistan President with his successful European tour as well as trilateral Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey summit held in Turkmenbashi," Turkmenistan TV reported on 4 Dec.
